125s: Smith second as Talmacsi wins
Gabor Talmacsi took his second victory as the reigning 125cc world champion at Misano, when an accident for 2008 championship leader Mike di Meglio provided the Hungarian with hope of retaining his title.
Talmacsi won by 5.4secs from Smith, who equalled his career-best grand prix finish, having also claiming second position in the French Grand Prix.
Talmacsi, who began the race 64 points from di Meglio, has now closed to 39 points behind, while Corsi has advanced from 44 points to 28 from di Meglio with five rounds still to go.
